This has been a strange season for everyone. We know that many of us won’t be able to travel in the coming months, and this is a new and disconcerting situation. COVID has forced us to slow down, to stay closer to home, and to rethink the way we move through the world. Still, this passion beats inside all of us, and we need to feel it again.
Our home waters—your rivers—are still there. They always have been. Perhaps it’s time to refocus and rediscover them once more. Maybe this is where it all began many years ago, and we’re certain they’re still hiding treasures.
Juan Salgado and I have spent the last few days exploring new rivers in our area and revisiting others we hadn’t fished in years. As always, the river gave us a few images to remember.
Keep fishing. In the end, the experience is what matters.
